Kiva.org extra credit

When you first go onto kiva.org it shows how you can donate and find who you want to donate to. You can search a country and people who need loans come up. When you look at people it shows a picture and says a description of what they need, it could be anything from education to needing to buy a cow. So, you can read there story and then donate 25 dollars or more. The least you can donate  is 25 dollars. It shows how much time you have left to donate and how much they need and how much more money the person needs. On this website the money you give is a loan so you will get your 25 dollars or how ever much you donated back. They have a 97.1% loan repayment rate. They have 4 stars on the charity navigator. 1.7million people have made loans through kiva. One person I found is name is Ahmed he is from Palestine. He needs 1,500 dollars to pay for tuitions to study law. Another person I found is Lila she is from the Philippines and she needs $325 dollars to buy feeds, vitamins and other supplies for raising her pigs. She only needs a $100 to go. I think this is a great website reading all of these situations and seeing what happens around the world. Websites like these show people that there are more situations around the world then just in our own area. It expands peoples knowledge and informs people and makes people want to make a difference.
