Today in class we went to cia.gov because Mr. Schick liked the website. We picked a country and found an interesting fact about the country. We went around the classroom and each of us said our interesting fact. Mine was about Italy and I said that Italys national holiday is June 2nd its called Republic day. There was two facts said about the United states the first was that is the world's largest consumer of cocaine. The other fact about the United States is that they are number 18 out of 200 states for obesity. I also learned that Fiji's language is English. Today's class was pretty interesting.

Today in human geo we watched another video. It was Hans Rosling he teaches global health. He made of graph. The X axis was life span and the Y axis was income. He showed the world separated by color dots. Europe was brown. Asia was red. Middle East was green. Sub-Saharan was blue. Americas was yellow. The graph started in year 1810. In 1810 all people were sick and poor and the life expectancy were 40 years old except for U.K. and Netherlands. As the years went on the life expectancy got higher and people got more money.

Today in class we learned about site and situation. Site is character of a place. Examples of site is climate, water sources, topography, soil, vegetation, elevation. We talked about how Nebraska is just straight road with corn fields. Then how different it would be in Denver because it is mountains and people have to change things like how they drive because they are driving down hill. We also talked about how climate has to do a lot with an area like for example what kind of animals would live in that area. Mr. Schick also gave us a pop quiz.
